Helen Keller

Watch the following video about the life of Helen Keller.

On June 27, 1880, Helen Keller was born. A childhood illness left Keller both blind and deaf. She was a remarkable woman who learned to do remarkable things even though she was handicapped. She never let her blindness get in her way of accomplishing her dreams. She went on to later become a famous author and speaker. What type of characteristics do you think Keller had to posses in order to overcome her obstacles?

Helen Keller was blind and deaf after she had an illness at 19 months. I think Annie Sulivan probably had a hard time. But guess what? Annie had to stay with Helen for 50 years!! But Helen was very determined. She actually never gave up to being blind and deaf . She is very important. Helen lived through her life well and she is very strong.

Helen Keller was blind, deaf, and dumb. It all happened on June 27,1880 when Helen had a fever which left her blind and deaf. I feel bad for Helen because she grew up without being able to see the beautiful things in life and to hear all the sounds that nature makes. She had a teacher come and help her so she would have to learn not to throw fits. Her teacher’s name was Annie. Later in life Helen learned how to read braille and to speak. Helen became a famous enough writer and speaker to talk to people around the world. Hellen Keller is one of my idols.

She had to be determined, focused and a little bit independent. If Helen Keller didn’t have Anne Sullivan she still would have been a wild girl like in the beginning. Anne Sullivan was the perfect teacher for Helen because she never gave up when Helen didn’t listen to her.

Hellen Keller is a great inspiration! She teaches us all something about how to stay calm and stay patient like she did. Annie Sullivan was a big help in her life. She was the best known deaf and blind person that graduated with a very good degree! It was very rough for Helen, but with patience and being calm, she had a good life. That is a very good lesson for us!

I think that Helen Keller is a very good book. It teaches you to be not so greedy and it teaches you to appreciate what you have. I, also, think that it is an exciting book because you don’t know what will happen until the end. She is very wild at the beginning and very smart and calmer at the end.

I think the character trait that Helen Keller has is courage. She had courage when she went up and said many speeches. She also has the characters trait of being loving, like the love she shared with teacher. She has the characters trait of bravery when she goes around and she can’t see or hear and she still learned how to ride a horse. There are many more but I can’t think of any more.

Hellen Keller was blind and deaf.It happened on June 27, 1880. Since she was blind and deaf she had to get help from a person named Annie. Her first word she understood was water. She always was ready to learn and was not patient. When she grew up being blind and deaf did not keep her from being lazy she worked hard to become a writer and speaker.

Despite Helen’s struggles in her life (Being Blind, Dumb-until she learned to talk- and Deaf) Helen stayed strong. She believed that one day she could talk just like anybody else. Even though she knew she could never see the brightest light or hear the loudest sound. Then one day a new teacher, Anne Sullivan came along. Anne taught Helen how to read (Raised Print or Braille) and she helped Helen understand, like that wonderful moment at the water pump. One day Anne and Helen went outside. They went to the pump and Anne turned it on. She put Helen’s hand under the water and then spelled W-A-T-E-R in her hand. Finally, Helen understood! All day long she went running around feeling things and waiting for Anne to come spell them out. That was a very tiring day for Anne, don’t you think! The important thing is, Helen believed she could do things just like anybody else, and she did.

Helen Keller was a deaf child. Also she was blind. This made life a little harder for Helen but she still learned. Helen had learned to spell in her hand. Her teachers name was Anne. She learned how to read and write. Helen first word was w-a-t-e-r Helen was a very wild child she would get mad and have bad tempers and blurt out sounds. One when Helen was young the flipped over her little sister crib this did not hurt her little sister. I think Helen was a good person that didn’t let being deaf and blind slow her down.

Helen Keller was deaf, blind, and dumb. She had a fever when she was 18 months old called scarlet fever that was the fever that made her blind and deaf. The doctors thought she was not going to make it alive but she did. She stayed deaf and blind. When she grew up she did not know how to talk and did not know what stuff meant. Her mother and father hired a teacher named Annie Sullivan that help her understand that stuff has a meaning.
